Mt. Enterprise football standout Kaegan Ash has committed to Texas Tech. The rising senior made the pledge to be a future Red Raider during a campus visit this weekend, a week after receiving his offer to play linebacker at a Texas Tech camp.
This was Ash’s first Power Four offer. He’s also received offers from four Ivy League colleges, Army, Navy and Air Force and Washington State and other in-state offers from Texas State, Texas-El Paso, Stephen F. Austin and Texas-San Antonio.
Ash has made his mark at Mt. Enterprise playing fullback with big contributions on both sides of the ball. As a junior, he rushed for 1,960 yards and 32 touchdowns on offense and made 49 tackles on defense (with four missed games due to injury). To date in his high school career, he’s rushed for 6,820 yards and 99 career touchdowns, 96 of those being rushing touchdowns. The 2A Division II Mt. Enterprise Wildcats went 9-4 in the 2024 season and ended three rounds into the playoffs, which included a dramatic victory in the area championship against Wortham featuring a clutch 68-yard touchdown catch by Ash in the final three seconds.

For the 2024 season, Ash was named First Team fullback for the Class 2A Blue Bell/TSWA All-State football awards as well as the 2024 All-East Texas Football Team. As a multi-sport athlete, Ash has earned First Team All-District honors in basketball and is a two-time state medalist in track and field for the triple jump.
Ash has big aspirations for his athletic career and says he’s excited to see his hard work pay off with big college offers and now a place at a big school in the Big 12 conference. It’s a goal that really solidified in his mind when he was a freshman.
“I always had the goal to just keep working hard and get the offer from a big school,” says Ash.
He noted it was amazing and a little overwhelming to get Ivy League offers like from schools like Yale, Princeton, Cornell and Dartmouth, and he seriously considered them. Ultimately, he wanted to play football at a higher level. Whatever position he played didn’t really matter, as Ash says he enjoys playing offense and defense. His decision was made after his positive experiences meeting coaches and future Red Raider teammates at their June 8 camp.
“It was crazy. The facility and just all the coaches. It was a lot. It was really big,” says Ash.
To have gotten to where he is, Ash credits God and his consistent work ethic, his coaches and his parents, Kevin Ash and Brittany Webster, especially, for being his support system and getting him to all the big football camps that helped get him noticed. His biggest personal inspiration is his older brother, Landon.

While working towards his NFL dreams playing college football, Ash will also be pursuing a business major.
As for milestones he hopes to achieve with his team during his senior season at Mt. Enterprise?
“We’re going to win state this year. That’s our goal,” says Ash.
