In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, the Kidz Club group at Henderson’s First Methodist Church took to the streets of Henderson this past Sunday—not for a game or a trip, but to deliver hand-packed care packages to members of the congregation who are unable to attend services in person.

Toting summer themed sacks filled with all things yellow, the kids visited elderly and ill members of the church family who are unable to attend church in person.

Reaching out to missing members beyond the church walls is part of the Caring Ministry at First Methodist Church Henderson. Members of the church join this ministry and help with seasonal gifts, visits, calls and cards to help these members know they are still very much a part of the church.

FMC Children’s Director Kaysie Sabella, and her children’s group the Kidz Club, volunteered to help with the summer gifts. The gesture didn’t just lift the spirits of the recipients—it left a lasting impact on the children, too. By taking church beyond the walls of the building, they discovered a deeper meaning of fellowship, kindness, and what it truly means to be the hands and feet of faith.
